As a Senior Research Architect at the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory in Champaign, Illinois and as an Assistant Professor in the UIUC School of Architecture, Brian has been a primary creative force in developing the LEAM project. His research projects include LEAM applications to the Tri Counties of Peoria, Illinois in collaboration with the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and the development of a dynamic decision support system for sustainable military communities through the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP). Brian received a B.S. in Architectural Studies and his Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and completed his Ph.D. in 2002. Brian holds Architect licenses in Illinois and Wisconsin. As a UIUC faculty member, Brian teaches courses in the School of Architecture (Senior Architectural Design Studio and Special Projects). He is a member of the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Technical committee, the Building Environment and Thermal Envelope Council, the City of Champaign's Neighborhood Task Force Committee and is a proposal reviewer for the National Homebuilder Press.
