Jennifer joined the University of Illinois in the Fall of 2004 and LEAM in the Spring of 2005. Prior to joining LEAM, she worked at the Building Research Council developing online sustainable design courses and a LEED assessment template. Jennifer is currently researching aspects of green infrastructure, specifically the economic costs and benefits of stormwater management practices and trails systems. Jennifer earned a B.A. in 2004 from Albion College (Albion, Michigan), where she majored in Earth Science and German, with a concentration in Environmental Studies. While at Albion College, she was a TA for introductory geology courses, and spent a summer researching the provenance of glacial clasts found in south-central Michigan. Jennifer hopes to focus her studies on improving pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and creating more opportunities, through design and policy, for humans to interact with the natural environment on a daily basis. In her free time, Jennifer searches for new places to visit. She has camped on an Alaskan glacier, in the woods of Washington and Idaho, in the deserts of Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada, and on the hardened lava flows of Hawaii. She has also been fortunate enough to travel to England, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, and the British West Indies. | |||
