Matt joined the University of Illinois in 2003 and LEAM in 2004. While working on the McHenry County Legacy Planning project, his primary focus has been on annotating regional, county, and local plans. These annotations are then inputted into the “system of plans” database used to infer the local legacy plan. In the coming months, Matt will be working with the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission to interpret LEAM runs based on their Common Ground regional plan.

As a Masters of Urban Planning student, Matt has concentrated on plan creation and implementation. In addition to his work at LEAM, Matt works with the City of Urbana, Illinois to complete their comprehensive plan. This includes creating illustrated future land use designations, drafting city-wide land use maps, and editing several sections of the plan.

Matt completed his B.S. in Economics and Business at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003. He concentrated in urban economics, and also dabbled in introductory urban planning courses.

Outside of school, Matt enjoys auto racing (anything except NASCAR), movies with at least one thumb up, and has a passion for anything Tolkien.
