A resource inventory is mandated in the Local Legacy Act for regions undertaking Legacy Plans. It plays a key role in inferring a Legacy Plan. Using LEAM, a variety of future land-use patterns will be simulated as consequence of different public policy and investment choices found in plans. When resource inventories are laid over these simulations, they reveal which resources are safe and which are threatened or unprotected.

A growing list of resources is being included in the McHenry Resource Inventory include:
  • Vector GIS files of 2020 and 2030 transport plans
  • Vector GIS files of National Wetlands Inventory
  • Vector GIS files (wetlands, streams) from ADID
  • Vector GIS files of Facility Planning Areas
  • Soils vector GIS files and tables
  • Municipality Boundaries from 2000 Census
  • McHenry County Conservation District Boundaries
  • FEMA 100 year floodplains from Q3 Data
  • Biological Stream Characterization Ratings
  • McHenry County Historic Properties
  • McHenry County Historic District
  • NIPC 1995 land use inventory with code join table
  • Chicago Wilderness Land Cover ERDAS file
