Workshop participants used their knowledge
of local conditions and planning initiatives to deliberate on three
sets of questions:
1. What are the ways in which the System of Plans
might enhance local planning
initiatives?
2. Is the inventory of Legacy Resources complete and accurate? How might
it be
improved?
3. Are preliminary LEAM simulations effectively capturing the forces that
drive local land use change? How might LEAM simulations of land-use change
facilitate
local thinking of the future? |
In addition to breakout sessions focusing on these questions, the
four-hour workshop included presentations by representatives from
the Illinois Dept of Natural Resources, the University of Illinois
LEAM project, and the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission.
